It has significantly better security features than UDMP then I migrated my UniFi switching & wireless to a self-hosted Unifi Controller on a Ubuntu VM. The EdgeRouter series are easy if you have the skills to set up a Linux-based PC to do the same task. They are not, however, going to offer the kind of consumer-friendly UI that you will get from an Asus or similar. AIUI, the USG bridges the gap a bit. I had to rescue my ERL from a bad flash drive.. Works fine, if you miss something it is the integrated console that manages your router and WiFi (but you get the much more powerful opnsense console in place). The controller indeed needs to run somewhere, I have it as a container ... 3 networks: default: for all main, known devices. clients have access to all other networks. IOT: IOT devices only. Guest: Network Isolation is turned on. I'd like to put the printer on the IoT network. When I do that, I cannot print to it from the Guest network. Ubiquiti Unifi is an ecosystem with a wider range of products than TP-Link Omada. For example, they have in-wall APs, cylinder APs meant to be set on a counter (or mounted on a pole), ceiling mounted APs, cameras, door access, EV charger, managed switches, etc. Many people will select Unifi because of the ecosystem.Hello!
